ASHRAE, established in 1894, is a worldwide society propelling human prosperity through feasible innovation for the constructed condition. The Society and its individuals center around building frameworks, vitality productivity, indoor air quality, refrigeration and maintainability inside the business. Through research, gauges composing, distributing and proceeding with training, ASHRAE shapes tomorrow's manufactured condition today. ASHRAE was shaped as the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers by the merger in 1959 of American Society of Heating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHAE) established in 1894 and The American Society of Refrigerating Engineers (ASRE) established in 1904.

In 2012, as a major aspect of a rebranding, ASHRAE started working together as "ASHRAE" versus utilizing its full legitimate name of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers. Utilization of ASHRAE mirrors the Society's overall participation and that administrations will keep developing all inclusive.

Darryl K. Boyce, P. Eng.
Darryl K. Boyce, P. Eng., is ASHRAE’s President for the 2019-20 term. Boyce has previously served on the board of directors as treasurer, vice president and director-at-large. He is the recipient of ASHRAE’s Distinguished Service Award, Exceptional Service Award and Regional Award of Merit.

Boyce is a 1982 graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and earned his Engineering Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1973.
